The Gap
Children and families are often supported through fragmented systems that treat emotional well-being, physical health, and financial literacy as separate challenges.
In reality, these dimensions are deeply connected—and when addressed in isolation, the “whole child” is often overlooked.
Our Model
To address this gap, EQ-Lab uses an integrated, research-informed model that connects community-based programs with applied research.
Our work operates as a continuous loop: programs generate insights, and those insights strengthen programs. This ensures that our approach is both evidence-based and grounded in real community contexts.
Our bilingual approach allows us to engage underserved populations while contributing meaningful insights to broader systems of knowledge and practice.
Our Programs
EQ-Lab operates through three interconnected “Houses” that translate research into real-world impact.
The Sun House
A bilingual program that combines language learning with social-emotional development, helping children build communication skills and emotional resilience.
The Money House
A financial literacy program focused on behavior—helping families understand how emotions influence financial decisions and long-term habits.
The Research House
An applied research initiative that connects data, community insights, and real-world implementation to generate knowledge and inform practice.
Research & Impact
Our work is grounded in research and strengthened through real-world application.
Global Alignment
Our work contributes to global efforts to advance equity, education, and economic opportunity. Through research and community-based programs, EQ-Lab aligns with key United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—connecting evidence with real-world impact.
